Get a £60 parking charge dropped and win £462.15 in costs
Loren Cole fed Parkingeye's letters into ChatGPT, which pointed out gaps such as a floor plan sent instead of photos of the signs. Parkingeye withdrew its court claim, and a costs order later made it pay him £462.15.
Try it yourself
What you get
A list of weak points in a parking company's evidence, plus letters you can send back.
Tools
- ChatGPT
- The parking charge notice and all their letters
- Your own photos of the signs and payment proof
Steps
- Photograph the car park signs and machines yourself, and keep your payment receipt or app record.
- Upload every letter and evidence bundle from the parking company and ask the assistant to find inconsistencies.
- Have it draft replies that point to each weakness, for example a floor plan instead of photos of the signs.
- If the company drops a court claim, ask whether you can claim your costs as a litigant in person, then draft that claim.
Copy-ready prompt
I got a private parking charge from [company] at [car park] on [date] for [reason]. My side: [what happened, payment time, machine problems]. Here are their letters and evidence: [paste or upload]. 1. List every weakness or inconsistency in their evidence and wording (signage, timings, grace periods, missing photos). 2. Tell me which evidence of my own would help. 3. Draft a firm, polite reply that I can send. 4. If they take me to court and then withdraw, explain how I could claim my costs. Point me to the official rules so I can check them.
