How we verify
AgentPlays collects real things people have done with AI. No invented examples, numbers or quotes. Here is exactly how a play or a news item gets onto the site, and how strong the proof behind it is.
Where plays come from
- Public posts on X, Hacker News threads, blog write-ups, open-source repos and reader submissions.
- Every play links to the public source it came from. If we can't link to it, we don't list it.
- Summaries paraphrase the source closely. Numbers and results come from the source, not from us.
- "Try it yourself" steps and prompts are written by AgentPlays from the source, and the page says so.
- Product announcements are kept apart in New launches. A launch is not proof that something works.
Evidence badges
Each play carries a badge so you can judge the proof yourself:
- Detailed write-up
- The person published a detailed account with specifics (amounts, dates, screenshots or documents) that we read in full.
- Open-source code
- The code is public, so anyone can inspect or run it.
- Self-reported
- A first-hand claim in a public post, usually short. We link it, but we can't independently confirm the result.
- Second-hand report
- Reported by a journalist or another person, not the person who did it.
- Unverified
- We could not open the original source to check the details. Shown with a warning.
How news is confirmed
- We only list news that a primary source (the company, lab or official body) or established reporting has published.
- Every news card links to the original reporting. Rumors and unconfirmed leaks are left out.
- Summaries are short and plain, with no predictions or hype added.
Ongoing checks
- Source links are re-checked automatically. Play pages show the date the source link was last checked where we have that record.
- Plays whose source and discussion are both gone are removed.
- Prices, free tiers and deals are checked on the official page and dated, because plans change.
Sponsored content
Sponsors never decide what counts as a real play. Paid placements are always labeled "Sponsored" and kept separate from editorial picks. See sponsorship rules.
