Anthropic opens applications for STEM and Conceptual Reasoning Fellows, due Oct 28

Anthropic opened applications on Oct 15 for two four-month fellowships that run from Jan 12 to May 8, 2027. STEM Fellows (science and engineering PhDs with several years of experience) and Conceptual Reasoning Fellows (philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy and law) will build datasets, simulations and evaluations that test how well Claude reasons in their field. Anthropic lists pay of $100,000 to $167,000 for the four months. The default location is San Francisco, and Anthropic will consider remote work within the US in certain circumstances; all fellows attend a one-week orientation in San Francisco. Anthropic isn't sponsoring visas, so fellows must have or obtain US work authorization. Applications close Oct 28, and offers are planned by Nov 20.
How you’d use it: If you use Claude or Claude Code in your daily work and have a STEM PhD with several years of experience, or a PhD (finished or in progress) or equivalent research experience in philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy or law, read the posting for your field and apply before Oct 28.
