Bloomberg reports that Apple is preparing to bring its first Apple Intelligence features to mainland China in iOS 27.3, expected in December, after about two years of regulatory delays. The first wave covers features that launched elsewhere in 2024, such as writing tools, notification summaries, Genmoji and Photos Clean Up. Siri AI, Image Playground and the newer iOS 27 features aren't included. Apple works with Alibaba and Baidu in China, and the government must approve ongoing model updates. Apple declined to comment.

How you’d use it: If you build iPhone apps for users in mainland China, plan for writing tools and notification summaries arriving in December, but don't count on Siri AI there yet.
