Recipients of the Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science share $36 million and can join a six-month accelerator with Google engineering support and infrastructure. Projects span flash-flood warnings in Africa, ocean digital twins, fusion modeling, sodium-ion batteries, precision oncology, African pharmacogenomics, and open neurodegenerative DNA tools from groups including MIT, Cambridge, Max Planck, Allen Institute, and the University of Cape Town.

How you’d use it: Working on AI for climate or health? These 17 funded projects are a map of what Google.org is backing right now.
