Chart from the Shorenstein Center report showing how women and men rate whose views are better represented in AI news, development and AI-generated content

The Harvard Kennedy School center's report "Are Women Being Left Out of AI?" combines a survey of more than 5,000 U.S. adults, browsing data and an analysis of over 70,000 AI news articles. It found 46% of women never use AI at work versus 36% of men, and 64% of women get no workplace AI training versus 49% of men. Men were named in AI headlines 14.6 times as often as women and cited as experts 4.3 times as often, even after removing executives, founders, officials and investors. The research was funded by Pivotal.

How you’d use it: Managers can check whether their team's AI training reaches women and men equally.
