OpenAI will shut off GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, GPT-4.1 and GPT-4.1 mini in the API on January 14, 2027
OpenAI notified developers that five GPT-4 series snapshots (gpt-4o-2024-08-06, gpt-4o-2024-11-20, gpt-4o-mini-2024-07-18, gpt-4.1-2025-04-14 and gpt-4.1-mini-2025-04-14) leave the API on January 14, 2027, with gpt-6-luna as the recommended replacement. Fine-tuned models built on them follow the same date. GPT-4o already left ChatGPT in February, and fans have revived the #keep4o campaign. If you have any of these model names hardcoded, now is the time to start testing gpt-6-luna.
