@AdamDagx (Oct 15) made a Grok Bot that runs their 3D printer: it finds or designs models, slices them for their printer and tracks prints and filament, through the printer's own software or a dashboard it builds. They shared it as a Grok Bot template, Printy, that you can set up for your own printer. The template page describes it as a 3D-printing assistant that also hands prints off safely and troubleshoots failures.

Try it yourself

What you get

Models found or designed, sliced for your printer, with prints and filament tracked.

Tools

  • Grok Bot (Printy template)
  • Your 3D printer and its slicer software

Steps

  1. Open their Printy template and set it up for your printer.
  2. Ask it to find a model, or describe what you need so it can design one.
  3. Let it slice the model for your printer's settings and hand the print off.
  4. Track prints and filament through your printer's software or a dashboard it builds.

Watch out: Watch the first prints in person; a bad slice or setting can waste filament or damage a print.
