Turn yesterday's X bookmarks into a tagged Notion database every morning

Notion "X Bookmarks" database from the author's post, with title, author, tags and URL columns

@fabianschierz set up a Grok automation that runs daily at 4am, collects the previous day's X bookmarks and sends them as a JSON array to a Grok Bot named Polly. Polly reopens each post to check the data is complete, then saves it to a Notion database with tags, topics, summaries, URLs and why it matters, so other bots can query it for project ideas. The author uses Grok Automations for the bookmark step because it's free once Grok has X access; reading bookmarks from Grok Bot would use API credits, they say.

Try it yourself

What you get

A sortable Notion database of everything you bookmarked, tagged and summarized for you and your bots.

Tools

Time / cost: Author: runs daily at 4am

Steps

  1. Create the Notion database first with the columns you want (title, author, tags, URLs, summary).
  2. Schedule the Grok automation for a quiet hour and send its JSON to the bot.
  3. Give the bot a fixed tag list so the database stays filterable.
  4. Add a weekly routine that asks the bot which bookmarks fit each project.

Copy-ready prompt

Every day you'll receive a JSON array of my X bookmarks from yesterday. For each post: open it again and fill in anything missing (author, full text, links). Then add one row to my Notion database [DATABASE NAME] with: title, author, URL, extra URLs, 2 to 4 tags from [TAG LIST], topic, a one-line summary and why it matters to me. Skip duplicates. Don't like, reply to or repost anything.

Watch out: Bookmarks can reveal personal interests; keep the database private. Reading X through the bot can use paid API credits, per the author.

In their words

I've created an automation in @grok that runs daily at 4am and collects all of my X bookmarks from the previous day. The automation then sends them as a JSON array to my Grok @bot Polly (Archivist). Polly opens every post again to make sure the data is complete, then saves everything into a Notion database – enriched with tags, topics, summaries, URLs, why it matters etc.
